I also want to extend Congrats to Aperturaphoto for be featured in PopPhoto.com Top Ten Wedding photographers of 2009.  You can read the full article by clicking on this link.  They really deserve it.  I have been assisting them the last 2 Saturdays and Ray and Erwin always amaze me with their creativity and style.  I seems to learn something new every time I assist with them.

One more thing, I started a little photography group with a bunch of people from my church.  I am looking forward to learn and growing as I teach the class.  You need to know your stuff if you want to teach it so it will help me to explore my creative side and sharpen my game.

One of the things I love about being a photographer is all the gear. I consider myself a gear head. I love doing research to find what works best for me and what I want to buy next.  It is just one of the many perks of being a photographer. I have been wanting a nice fast lens in the normal focal distance for a while and I finally found one for a good price.  I ended up going with a Sigma because it is a sharper lens than the Canon 50 f/1.4 and it focuses much faster than the Canon 50L f/1.2.  It is also less than have the price of the Canon 50L which is a plus.  It is always good to save a buck and get a great lens.

This lens will be replacing my 24-70mm f/2.8.  The 24-70 was a step up from my 24-105 f/4 lens, but I found that I wanted something that can shoot in lower light situation but also wanted a very sharp lens.  The 24L does that for me.   I know a few pros that have this lens glued onto their camera 90% of the time.

It is practically new and I got a great deal on it. This lens is one of the most praised lens and I can see why. I have not got to use it in a Wedding yet, but it really make me excited to shot again. I think I am addicted to Canon L Primes.

I get excited everytime I get new gear. I have a few more purchases that I am planning before my next Wedding. Equipment does not make a photographer, but it can open more door to there creative mind.

Next thing on my list is a 35mm f/1.4 and a Canon 1D Mark III. I am still debating between getting the 1D III or the new 5D Mark II. I think I will have both of these camera soon, but I am not sure which one to get first. For now, I am leaning to the 1D III.
