New Year, New Look and New Website

The start of a new year is always a good time to start something new.  Hence, I have switched my business and started a new look and feel to help portray more of my style and professionalism in my work.

Delighted Photography is my new business name and will be used from now on for all my photography.  You will be seeing a lot of changing on my blog and my main site in the next week or so.  My logo is in the final stages of being completed and my new main site will be done shortly as well.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Christmas Pictures 2008

Christmas 2008:  Christmas is a very enjoyable time for myself.  I try not to get wrapped up in the buying frenzy and try to appreciate the time with my family and friends.  There seemed to be a lot of parties this year.  My wife and I went to spend some time with our church family group on the 19th.  Then we were able to get in touch with my Mom and step-dad Peter for some Dinner on the 23rd.  My twin brother Chris and his wife Claire were also able to make the dinner.  My Mom made some delicious lasagna and their dogs are sooo cute.

On Christmas day we went over to Craig and Annette’s house (Jane’s parents) for a late breakfast early lunch.  We relaxed by the fire, opened presents and ate more than I think I should of.  Jane’s brother Mike and his wife Anne showed up with a car full of presents, their two kids, Craig and Cody, and their dog Brandy.

After lunch, we headed out to Jenny and Ricki’s house (Jane’s older sister) for a late lunch early dinner.  Everyone and their uncle showed up and we had a lot of fun watching the kids play on their new Wii and opening up all their presents.  I got to see some of my relatives that I have never meet before.

After all of that, we headed over to see my grandma in the hospital (no pictures).  She has been in the hospital for almost two months from a surgery she had to remove her Colon.  She is doing great and hopefully she will be out in early January.  Overall, is was a great time and I was really tired at the end of the night.

My step-dad Peter watching comedian Bill Burr.

Anne getting ready to rob a bank.

This is one of the coolest thing about Christmas at the Leinen’s house.  Their working model train.

Crazy kids.

Working with Ray and Erwin from Apertura Photo

I’ve had the privilege to work with Ray and Erwin from Apertura Photo.  They are both great guys and a lot of fun to hang out with.  The opportunity came from a forum post needing a Semi Permanent assistant.  I jumped at the chance and was lucky enough to get picked to assist in a few of there Weddings.  There style is much different then my own and it really opened my eyes to what makes them so successful.

They let me ask all the questions I wanted and are more than willing to answer.  They are on top of there game and are very active in the community.  I look forward to learning more from them and incorporating some of there style and techniques into my own work.  Thanks Ray and Erwin for helping a guy out.

My Newest Toy. 85mm L Lens

I recently bought this Canon 85mm f1.2 L II lens. It is practically new and I got a great deal on it. This lens is one of the most praised lens and I can see why. I have not got to use it in a Wedding yet, but it really make me excited to shot again. I think I am addicted to Canon L Primes.

I get excited everytime I get new gear. I have a few more purchases that I am planning before my next Wedding. Equipment does not make a photographer, but it can open more door to there creative mind.

Next thing on my list is a 35mm f/1.4 and a Canon 1D Mark III. I am still debating between getting the 1D III or the new 5D Mark II. I think I will have both of these camera soon, but I am not sure which one to get first. For now, I am leaning to the 1D III.

Ross & Lindsey [[ Wedding ]]

Santa Ana, CA: A friend of mine, Deb Eskew, needed my help for a small Wedding in Santa Ana. I have never shot with Deb before but I thought it would be fun. Deb has a ton of energy and she did a great job at the Wedding. Ross and Lindsey are a cute couple and I wish the best for them in there future. The Ceremony and Reception was held at The Hacienda. This was the second time I shot there and it was as beautiful as the first.

My new photo assistant.

A little extra kick in your drink anyone.
